fun finds from maine: denden's plates

found these never-before-used, hand-painted, gold-rimmed plates of my great grandmother's. they are pretty silly. unique. beautiful in their own right. they are to go on display in an antique hutch we found for the shore house kitchen.

i came home from brooklyn to atlanta for the holidays to find a nice big box from my nona bulli. she has been cleaning out her closets and i, luckily, have been the recipient. in this box, there were layers of beautiful clothes and belts (a whole outfit i've already worn to the annual family caroling party), but under the clothes... were shoes. and they allllllllll fit. christmas came early, dear friends.

i mean, who doesn't need a pair of unworn, saks fifth avenue, english-made, wimbledon model, white suede tennis shoes?
