oh, maine...

my trip to maine is nearing its end. i can't complain though. mother nature and cancelled flights have granted me two extra days of fireside lounging, trips to alewives, knitting, thrift shopping, blogging and, most importantly, quality time with mom... quality time with mom working on the house.

we did what we usually do; rearranged furniture, hung frames, met with sub-contractors, ordered more bedding... the list goes on and on. don't get me wrong, the house is more than live-able. opening weekend was back in june, but as they say, there is always something (carpets to be laid, lights to be installed, spatchulas to be bought). i'm realizing that's part of the fun. the ongoing-ness of it all.

even though there are adjustments to come, we figured we'd go ahead and photograph the house. here are a few close-ups that make me smile. interiors shots to come.

shore house: opening weekend

well, at least it was supposed to be opening weekend. as usual, (three years later) things are (still) a bit behind schedule. (trim to paint, light fixture to install, showers to run, pictures to hang) we sure did our best to pull it all together though. i had to get back to brooklyn a day before the grand opening, but i hear champagne was had and the design team (love yall) was toasted. many more pictures soon to come.

we have just ordered the wallpaper for the powder room in the shore house. fine little day has created the most playful, ship-filled wallcovering. it is just perfect for this river-side abode. plus, i am thrilled to support the talented designer and lead lady of fine little day, elizabeth dunker. her (blogged) creations bring me joy every day.
